I am 26 years old. Recently, I was diagnosed with PCOD and am on medication, namely Novolone, and Glycomet. I really want advice on natural foods or herbs that will aid in keeping my condition under control and help with weight loss, because that is a major concern for both my doctor and me. I would also love advice on any kind of yoga/Ayurveda which is helpful in my condition. I am pretty sick, obese, have high pressure and asthma, which is making hard gym-work very problematic and want to start easy but immediately. Please help. |

| Eyelash in my eye |
[Nov. 15th, 2009|08:52 pm] |
|
Very strange question but here goes...
An eyelash got into my eye and was irritating my eye, but before I could get it out it slipped below my lower eyelid and under my eyeball...and now I can't feel it in my eye anymore but I'm pretty sure it's still there. Is it alright to just leave it? Or is there a problem with not doing anything about it? If I should make sure it comes out, how? |

As well, working on a website, just a personal one. I am enjoying killing time on that. It is going to be filled filled filled, so when it is ready it is ready... :)
May you all be well. <3
ps. this is my second song so don't despise it too much. ;) |

| artificial sweetener equivalents. |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|08:51 pm] |
I've been making my iced tea with Sweet'N Low for years and have been wanting to cut this out for some time now. We finally finished up the last of the packets in the house and today I made the first pitcher with turbinado sugar. The Sweet'N Low website states that 1/4 cup of sugar is equal to six packets of S'NL. I use 5 packets to a pitcher, so I figured 1/4 cup should be plenty. No way. It tastes virtually unsweetened. I had to add at least another cup to the pitcher for there to be any taste difference, and as any good Southerner knows, now it's not sweet tea since the sweetener was added after the brewing process, it's just tea with sugar. And most of it just settled undissolved at the bottom of the pitcher anyway. Can anybody give me some advice, tell me what I did wrong? I'm new to turbinado so perhaps it's just not sweet enough for me? (Incidentally, I found that evaporated cane juice in bulk is much cheaper, I'm planning to buy some tomorrow.) |

| Knots in my Hair! |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|11:38 pm] |
Ever since I've let my hair grow long my hair gets so tangly...So I was wondering is there a detangle spray that you would recommend to use after I wash my hair?
I also am looking for Make-up removing wipes, I would like to take off my make-up off quicker. So are there a specific brand that you would recommend, I have sensitive skin and I breakout easily so I'm scared to just try anything.
Thanks for taking the time in trying to help me. |

[Nov. 14th, 2009|09:31 pm] |
I just bought some from the drug store. I'm getting some enamel fixed here on the 18th. The instructions in them say not to use them two weeks before or after dental work. Does anyone know the reason behind this? |

| Egg head |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|09:30 pm] |
It's been eight days now that I stopped using shampoo or conditioner.
To make the "no-poo" transition easier I replaced shampoo with egg yolks. Here is what I've been doing:
I throw two egg yolks into a little container and let it sink around for a little while. I scrub my hair with water and do my usual routine. After that I massage the yolk into my scalp and wait 15 minutes. By then the yolk has hardened on my scalp, and I need to let my hair run under hot water for a few seconds. I rinse it off well and wrap my hair in a towel.
I've read a handful of posts with some negative comments about this egg yolk routine, but so far for me it's been working fine. The yolk leaves me hair very soft and shiny. However my hair is a little on the frizzy side. I used to 'suffer' a lot from dandruff, but now that I stopped using shampoo I haven't had that problem.
My hair reaches my shoulders and it's quite wavy.
I wanted to know what I can do for the frizz to go away.

Is it true that it's better to use a hair mask on dry instead of wet hair? |

Hopefully someone here has used this product and can help me out :) I recently purchased Nutra-Nails 5 to 7 Day Growth Calcium treatment. I read the reviews on MUA and they are wonderful. But I have a question, it says on the back that it can be worn with polish. It needs to be applied twice a day, I don't see how it still works over polish? Or do I need to re-paint my nails every time I use it? I'm kind of confused. When I bought it I assumed it was just like a basecoat but it's not, so now i'm kinda unsure as of what to do. |

| leather vs vegetarian shoes |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|04:50 pm] |
so this may be a bit too exact of a question, but i have to ask..
deciding solely on the global mess made, which do you think is more environmentally friendly: a pair of leather shoes or an exact replica with vegetarian leather?
the way i see it, the leather would be more environmentally friendly simply because whether or not i choose to, there are going to be people eating cows & waste not want not.. but if i were to choose vegetarian leather, we're going to have to create that from new raw materials..
what do you think? anyone know how to make rope sandals? |

| Another hair post... |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|07:33 pm] |
I change my hair color about as often as I change the channel on my TV. My 24th birthday is coming up next month, and since I'll be due for a dye job and cut, I figured I'd consult with all you ladies about what color and cut might look best.
I'm just gonna post a slew of photos from the past year and a half featuring all sorts of different looks that I've sported. Also, for your 411, I have unlimited mystic tanning each month, so sometimes I go pale, sometimes I rock a tan. I get bored with one look :)
What should I do? Sorry for all the pics...I change my hair waaaay too often.

| Rain boots |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|03:03 pm] |
I have a love-hate relationship with rain boots. I think they're cute but tacky because they're usually patterned and bright and don't always go with everything. But due to the terrible tropical storms we had all week last week in lovely North Carolina, and after walking all over campus to class in Uggs and Sperrys and having them be soaking wet by the time I got back, I have decided I'm going to invest in a pair.
I was looking at rain boots on Target. They have some cute ones but like I said, I'm hesitant to buy them because they're patterned shoes and I don't know if I should just go with a solid or what...I honestly just don't know what's "cute" in rainboots.
So if you lovely ladies would, please take a quick look at the rain boot selection in the link I posted and tell me which ones YA'LL would get. And what do ya'll think of rainboots? Tacky or cute? Also, feel free to suggest any other stores where cute rain boots are sold. I can't seem to find many.
TIA! |

| Questions on primer |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|03:02 pm] |
1. I'm looking to buy a foundation primer, preferably one that isn't tinted. Any suggestions? I hear Smashbox makes a good one, but I'd like to look at other brands as well.
2. I really want to wear lipstick, but every time I do they always smudge and bleed (every brand I've tried, from cheapie drugstore ones to MAC). I'd like to avoid resorting to lip liner to rectify this, so what are your thoughts on lip primer? |

| Postcards? |
[Nov. 14th, 2009|02:59 pm] |
| [ | I feel... |
| | calm | ] | Hey guys! I am an active member of PostCrossing and have no problem finding individual postcards that are environment-friendly but I was wondering if anyone knew of any bulk postcards that I could order that are made out of recycled materials. I feel that this would be a lot easier and cheaper but do not want to be just any old batch of postcards.
Hope all is well!!
